Hello everyone and happy September! Late July, I had the awesome opportunity to attend the Estée Lauder Fall Preview at the Thompson Hotel. They were showing many great new releases for skincare and beauty, and the main focus was their new Double Wear Nude Water Fresh Foundation (say that 5x fast!)I love that lightweight foundations are having a big moment right now (especially water-based ones) since really – who actually likes the feeling of a thick layer on their face? The full range contains 35 shades, however for some reason the availability online is limited (perhaps you’ll have luck in stores at Hudson’s Bay?)Anyway, we were colour-matched at the event and were generously gifted a bottle to use at home. I wear the shade 3W1 Tawny and I absolutely LOVE it. It is a touch thinner (and less expensive) than the Make Up For Ever Water Blend Face & Body Foundation ($54CDN) I reviewed a while back, however I found that this made my skin look a lot more hydrated and definitely had longer lasting power. This is likely due to the fact that there are more skincare-based components in the formula including watermelon, lychee, and apple extracts AND has SPF 30. This has definitely the foundation I’ve been reaching for over the last month. It holds up with the warmer temperatures and it’s so easy to apply. The makeup artist at the preview actually recommended not using a brush or blender to apply it – you should actually put your fingertip over the opening and shake to dispense just the right amount. Easy to build up coverage for sure, however does a fantastic job in terms of light-medium coverage with just 1 layer. It still feels like my skin and is neither oily or drying. The Estée Lauder Double Wear Nude Water Fresh Foundation ($48 CDN) is available now at Hudson’s Bay stores across Canada as well as online at esteelauder.ca.
What’s your current favourite foundation? Do you have any must haves from Estée Lauder ? Let me know! Thanks so much for stopping by!
