Fall Runway Beauty Trends with Dave Lackie

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since Dave Lackie hosted a Fall Runway Trends event in Toronto (the last one was in 2014 at Yorkdale) so when he announced he would be doing this presentation downtown at the Queen St. Hudson’s Bay store, I made sure to get my ticket right away. Each seat had a blank face chart and a snack box which was much appreciated! The quickest way to my heart is through cheese apparently. Dave wanted everyone to have a blank face chart so we could go to any counter afterward to get ideas customized to our skin tone and style. One of the first trends he mentioned was the bold, red lip. Classic yet being re-vamped using different textures, red lipstick is a fantastic way to update your style. There is a reason why Chanel Fall 2016 chose the theme Le Rouge – red lips will always be in fashion! If you haven’t read it, I actually shared My Favourite Reds last year – see post here! He also gave some sneak peeks at new releases that are coming out soon from Burberry and the exclusive collaboration between Victoria Beckham and Estee Lauder (arriving at Hudson’s Bay on October 1.)A gorgeous and super luxe collection! The packaging for the compacts are inspired by old-fashioned cigarette cases. Also on trend during fashion week were ombre lips. Not sure if it’s my style – but this Dior ad makes it look so effortlessly chic!

I love when Dave shares stories of celebrities, makeup artists, and fashion designers. Did you know that Francois Nars does all the makeup exclusively for the Marc Jacobs shows?
