Hello everyone! As mentioned in my Burberry Spring/Summer ’16 Preview, the major item I was was drawn to was the SS Runway Highlighting Palette in Nude Gold. Thanks to a gift card and a beauty voucher to Hudson’s Bay, this beautiful limited edition item has found a home in my collection.Emblazoned with an intricate lace design that mirrors the velvet lace Functionregalia collection from the Burberry runway show, this golden highlighter is a must have for any die-hard Burberry or highlighter fan. From Burberry.com: “Discover the limited edition Spring/Summer 2016 Runway Palette. A lightweight illuminating face powder set with an intricate lace-pattern design, inspired by the delicate fabrics from the womenswear show. Capturing the essence of the Burberry glow, the buildable, luminous Nude Gold shade fuses flattering, subtle highlighting with runway-inspired, effortless strobing techniques. Complexions are illuminated and features defined by sweeping the pearly, translucent powder across the areas of the face that light would naturally hit.”
I apologize for a light swatch…but really, I didn’t want to dig my fingers into this palette. It is definitely buildable and as you can see, it shows up as an ethereal gold on my light-medium skintone. The only gripe is while it blends easily into my skin, little flecks of glitter end up a little bit away from where I’ve applied it.
It’s always a challenge to photograph a highlighter effectively so here is my attempt. For those who are wondering: yes, it is similar to Mac Oh, Darling! however a touch more sheer and not as golden yellow. A beautiful alternative if you missed out on that one, however if you already have Oh, Darling!, then Nude Gold is unnecessary. Since I am a highlighter addict, I will get ALL OF THE HIGHLIGHTERS!
