Holiday Gift Guide 2015

Hello everyone! Christmas is right around the corner (even though it feels more like spring in southern Ontario) and if you are looking for a gift for the beauty lover in your life, here are some of my top suggestions. I’ve included gifts at different price ranges and yes, I included a candle because for whatever reason, liking candles seems to be a common correlation for beauty addicts.

$ (Great for the stocking!)
Nyx Butter Lip Balm in Biscotti
Lip balm is one of the most common purse essentials for most women and why not get one that smells delicious? The Nyx Butter Lip Balms ($6) are tinted so it gives you sheer colour while keeping your lips soft and hydrated. I love Biscotti because it is a nude with slight pink undertones so it basically becomes a MLBB colour.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara in Very Black
This is my mascara of the year! This will definitely be in my 2015 favourites – it replaced my beloved Lancome Hypnose Drama Waterproof ($29 USD). It works just as well on my super straight lashes and you can pick it up for as little as $6 depending on where you shop!

$$ (Great as an add-on or standalone gift!)
Laneige Advanced Hydration Trial Kit
This is probably the most impressive skincare set available at Sephora. Laneige just launched here in Canada this year and it is quickly gaining popularity. This set includes 4 of their most popular products in convenient trial/travel sizes. For $15, it’s definitely worth every (non-existent) penny.

Clinique Cheek Pop blush in Fig Pop
At $26, this is my favourite midrange blush. With the beautiful chrysanthemum design and strong, blendable pigmentation, this blush requires little effort for maximum effect. A little goes a long way, so this blush will give you the most bang for your buck!

Beauty Blender with Mini Solid
To the non-makeup inclined, $32 for a sponge and cleanser may seem steep, however I can honestly say that the Beauty Blender works magic with foundation application. This is one of the best makeup tools out there and I don’t know anyone who would be unimpressed receiving this.

Smells Like Canada candle in Double Double
I recently discovered Smells Like Canada at the One of a Kind show in Toronto. The owner and candle maker, Natalie is really passionate about her craft and yes – makes all of her candles herself. All scents are inspired by Canadian cities, provinces, and iconic symbols. The Double Double candle ($28) smells like sweet, creamy coffee – who can resist that?!

$$$ (Spoil them!)
Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palette
If you’re going to splurge, you may as well get a limited edition item. If you haven’t read my review on this palette, click here. This is a beautiful eyeshadow palette that contains mostly neutral shades (very appropriate for daily wear) and a few fun colours to keep things interesting. Urban Decay is known for their quality of shadows and this bold, polka dot packaged palette makes it the cutest addition to a makeup addicts collection.

Cle de Peau Luminizing Face Enhancer #13
Ok, this is a mega splurge but really, this highlighter is LIFE. I bought this over a year ago with a gift voucher and unfortunately since then it has gone up in price (it’s now $110…eep!) If the beauty lover in your life is in love with highlighters and gorgeous packaging, then this will totally fit the bill. The case looks jeweled and the powder itself uses light directing technology to give that perfect glow. I love this highlighter so much that I bought a separate brush JUST for it. #13 is Sand Beige which is perfect for my light-medium complexion, however there are 3 other colourways available.

Have you started or finished your Christmas shopping yet? Let me know if you have, and feel free to ask me questions about the products I mentioned or even for other beauty/skincare suggestions!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
