Hello everyone! I love GOOOOOOOOOOLD! Well…the Burberry gold festive packaging that is. I was given the opportunity to try out the reformulated Burberry Kisses (formerly known as the Lip Covers) in Military Red from the holiday collection which features a limited edition gold case. I’ve previously mentioned Lip Cover No. 18 Ruby and being given the chance to rock another red lipstick is totally up my alley. As with all Burberry lipsticks, the signature plaid is embossed on the case as well as on the lipstick bullet itself. The gold packaging really makes this a standout collector’s item especially when paired with the bright, almost orange-toned Military Red. For those who are unfamiliar, Military Red is one of the most iconic Burberry colours and was extremely popular when it was first released as a lipstick years ago.
From Sephora.com: “Burberry Kisses allow women to choose the end look they want from a barely there wash of color to deeper coverage. The new collection includes our most extensive color palette to date with a great range of colors to choose from, from wearable nudes to classic reds including our iconic Military Red; the perfect, universal red which suits all skin tones.” —Wendy Rowe, Burberry Makeup Artistic Consultant I wanted to compare it with Ruby just for colour purposes: Military Red is on the left while Ruby is on the right. The Burberry Kisses formula is definitely more hydrating than the lip covers with better lasting power. My personal preference however is definitely more toward true reds or even blue-toned reds, but I think Military Red is perfectly cheerful for the holiday season.
