Where to Buy, Where Not to Buy

EDIT: July 24/15 – Please feel free to click “Where to Buy in Canada” in the main bar above for an updated brand list.
Hello everyone! This is just going to be a quick little post based on the search terms I see in my stats.
Oftentimes, I see “brand name” at Shoppers Drug Mart or “brand name” Bramalea City Centre, etc.
If you go to the Shoppers Drug Mart site, their store locator actually lets you narrow it down by brand.
Here’s everything I’ve discovered about where to buy certain brands:

Urban Decay is only carried at 6 locations of Shoppers Drug Mart (College Park, Eaton Centre, Queen St W (on Beverley), Bayview Village, Yorkdale, and 1 store in Vaughan. You can always find it at Sephora.)

Bramalea City Centre in terms of makeup in my opinion is only good for the “Designer Cosmetics” store which carries elf, RT brushes, and a more extensive collection of Nyx products such as the Butter Glosses and Balms. (The Shoppers there carries Benefit among other mid-range brands but really, you’re better off going to Square One if you’re looking for makeup in Peel region)

Nyx is available at Target and Rexall, however carry very limited parts of the collection

theBalm can be found at Rexall and online through nailpolishcanada.com

ftbbeauty.ca is a great source for Sigma, Real Techniques, elf, and other harder to find items

Tarte is only sold at Sephora here in Canada, while Stila can be found at both Sephora and some Shoppers

-If you want all access to high end cosmetic brands, go to Holt Renfrew (note: the Bloor store is exclusively carrying Tom Ford beauty, and both Bloor and Yorkdale now carry Cle de Peau)

Kevyn Aucoin is only available at Pir Cosmetics in Yorkville

Hourglass is only sold at Sephora

Nars is available at Sephora and Holt Renfrew

Jouer Cosmetics are not available here in Canada but you can order from them online via their site or through UK’s Cult Beauty (however the one time I ordered from CB, I used my Visa which I don’t use frequently and a month later, someone tried to charge nearly $700 worth of hockey tickets to it, so as with all online shopping, be careful!)

Deborah Lippmann polishes are ONLY available at Sephora and Holt Renfrew, and Butter London is at Hudson’s Bay, Holt Renfrew, and Sephora Eaton Centre

Milani is available at Loblaws and starting to appear at some Wal-Mart locations.

Bobbi Brown is only at Holt Renfrew and Hudson’s Bay Queen St (at Yonge) *edit: and at select Sephora stores (Square One, Eaton Centre)

That’s about all I can come up with off the top of my head. If you have any insider tips on where to buy hard to find or specific brands in Toronto/GTA, please feel free to leave a comment! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi! I’m not sure how exactly I found this page (well, Google might have something to do with it), but I love it!

Thanks for this really great post! Extremely useful summary of where’s what and what you can buy at Shoppers vs Sephora in the GTA. Really idiot-proofs for people like me who somehow thought Tarte was sold at Shoppers.

    Thanks again!
